UEFA releases Champions League Quater final draw
UEFA who are in charge of the prestigious Champions League competition have on Friday, July 10, announced the quarterfinals and semifinals’ fixtures for this year’s championship.
Already current holders Liverpool have been sent out of the Champions League for this season by Atletico Madrid, but the Reds will have something to smile with this term which is the Premier League title.
Manchester City are still in the championship and they have been told who they will likely face if they overcome Real Madrid in the second leg of their knockout game.
Manchester City or Real Madrid will face the winner of the tie between Juventus and Lyon in the quarterfinal game.
Pep Guardiola and his wards already have an edge over Real Madrid having won the first leg in Spain when these two giants first met.
Chelsea on their own side will have a Kilimanjaro to climb for them to be able to defeat Bayern Munich in the return leg after the German side embarrassed the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
The winner between Chelsea and Bayern Munich will face Barcelona or Napoli in the quarterfinals.
In other fixtures, Atalanta will face Paris-Saint-Germain, while RB Leipzig will tackle Atletico Madrid in their own encounter.
The season for the 2019/20 was cancelled in France in which Paris-Saint-Germain were named winners and they will now have much time to prepare for the Champions League.
