Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta confident Arsenal can qualify for Champions League
Mikel Arteta is confident Arsenal can qualify for Champions League with just five matches left to end the 2019/20 season.
The Gunners are currently seventh on the table with 49 points – eight behind fourth-place team Chelsea as the campaign continues to wind down.
Arteta’s men seem to have turned their tides around having gone four straight games without dropping any single point.
Qualification for the Champions League could go down to the fifth-placed team as Man City are in danger of missing out on the tournament next season should their ban by UEFA is upheld.
However, Arteta has made it clear to his wards the effort required if they are to qualify for a place in Europe’s elite competition.
“We have to win every game and then wait and pray,” Mirror UK quoted Arteta saying.
“A few weeks ago we were really far from thinking about Europe and we are a little bit closer at the moment so lets go game by game and see where that takes us,” he added.
Arsenal have not made an appearance in the Champions League for the last three years and a qualification this term will be a massive boost for Arteta.
