The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Monday, November 16, released the 2020/2021 national common entrance examination results and pegged the national cut-off marks at 142.

This was revealed in a presentation by the chief executive of NECO, Godswill Obioma, during a conference in Abuja attended by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu.

From Obioma’s report, 70,580 candidates sat for the examination throughout Nigeria, 24,416 candidates passed with a minimum score of 66, Channels TV reports.

The council’s boss also disclosed that among those who scored the highest results were the following candidates: Umeonyiagu Chinua Crucifixio (199 out of 200 marks), Onwuamanam Udochukwu (198 marks) and Salaam Mariam Aderemilekun (197 marks).

Adamu, on his part, ordered a thorough investigation on the absence of 16,713 candidates who were reported to have been prevented from showing up due to the EndSARS protests.
