BREAKING: EndSARS protests forces NECO to postpone exam
Following the ongoing protests against police brutality, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has postponed the Computer Studies Practical Paper I.
This was made known by Azeez Sani, head, information, and public relations division of the council, in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, October 18, Premium Times reports.
Sani said the examination, initially fixed for Monday, October 19, was rescheduled because of the EndSARS protests that are affecting human and vehicular movement in some cities.
While noting that the ongoing protests affected the supply of examination materials, Sani added that the paper has been moved to Monday, November 16.
Earlier, NECO announced that its 2020 examinations for Senior Secondary three (SS3) students commenced on October 5.
The announcement was made by the NECO registrar/chief executive officer, Professor Godswill Obioma at a press conference in Minna, Niger state, on Tuesday, August 11.
He said that the NECO senior secondary certificate examinations (SSCE) will end on November 18, 2020.
